Irina Shvets is a nurse practitioner who joined North Shore Pain Management in February 2020. She is thrilled to be working as part of a team of providers who are dedicated to improving the quality of life for their patients with acute and chronic pain.

Irina earned a Master’s degree in Nursing from Simmons University. She has 2 years of experience working as an RN in home-care setting. Prior to her medical career, she completed an undergraduate degree in Biology from Simmons University and a Master of Biomedical Science degree from Rutgers University. Irina’s previous work experience also includes running clinical trials. Her background in both home-care nursing and clinical trials has given her valuable experience working with patients of different backgrounds. Many of the clinical trials were focused on new treatments for migraine headaches. Irina became interested in a career in pain relief after witnessing first-hand the impact migraines had on the quality of life of her patients. The clinical trials were especially rewarding as it led to FDA approval of a medication that is now on the market for migraine sufferers.  As a pain management provider, her goal is to assist patients in regaining their quality of life using a multidisciplinary approach unique to each individual.

Outside of work, Irina has a passion for cooking and travel and enjoys spending her spare time with her husband and their cat.
